30 Day Colt Starting Challenge

Step into the role of a horse trainer and experience the transformation of an unstarted, young horse over 30 days.

Participants will be paired with a 2–3 year old, unstarted horse, many of whom have been given a second chance through rescue. 

No horse of your own is required - we provide the horse and professional facility.

You bring your skills, talent and experience.

Under the supervision of experienced professionals, you will safely and effectively bring along a young horse using the S.A.F.E.R. Horsemanship system, with a strong emphasis on:

• Building trust and communication

• Safe horse handling

• Understanding horse behavior

• Desensitization

• Groundwork and control of movement

• Progression to ground driving and saddling

This is a guided, structured and supervised opportunity, providing each participant with mentorship, support and a safe learning environment.

Throughout the 30 days, we will document each participant/horse's journey:

Day 1 vs Day 30

• The struggles and breakthroughs

• Each horse’s personality

• The growth of horse and human

• The transformation through partnership

You, your skills and your accomplishments with your horse will be showcased and featured. 

Participants will present their horse and demonstrate their progress in a final Challenge Showdown, highlighting their ability to communicate, lead and development of their young horse. 

Who Can Participate:

• Ages 16 and up
• No prior young horse experience required
• Ideal for riders, horse lovers, and those wanting to expand their horsemanship skills
