Saddle Up with Avery Gard: Honoring Tradition & Winning Championships

Meet Miss Avery Gard, a dedicated 3rd grader at Vail Farm Elementary and a 2nd-year member of the PONYSITTERS program. Avery has spent the past six months rehabilitating an aged senior horse named Cloud, showing her deep commitment and love for equine care. Through consistent, careful conditioning, Avery helped Cloud regain his strength, ultimately preparing him to return to the show ring. Together, they achieved remarkable success, winning day-end and year-end championship honors in the mini-stirrup division—a testament to her patience and dedication.

When she’s not working with Cloud, Avery participates on the PONYSITTERS equine trivia team and brings her passion for equine heritage to life. Her recent presentation on cowgirls in history demonstrated her love of storytelling and connection to equestrian culture. Avery is now headed to Equine Affaire for a second year, ready to meet, greet, and inspire her friends, fans, and followers. We’re so proud of all she’s achieved, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for this young equestrian star!

Blazing Up The Charts

Big congratulations to Miss Avery and her remarkable partner, Blazing Up The Charts, on an outstanding first show season in 2023! Competing in the Walk/Trot division and Showmanship, Avery's hard work, determination, and love for the sport shone through in every performance. Together with Champion AQHA gelding, Blazing Up The Charts, she achieved Year-End, High Point Reserve Champion—a fantastic accomplishment for her debut season!

Waverly

Meet Avery, a dedicated and skilled member of the PONYSITTERS program who took on an exciting summer project in 2024 with Waverly, a young 5-year-old Welsh pony. This season, Avery chose Waverly to work with and guide, helping her build confidence and develop her skills as a promising young equine. Together, they achieved incredible milestones, including riding at the prestigious Old Salem Farm—a testament to Avery’s commitment, patience, and horsemanship. #futurehorsetrainer
